We celebrated our 26th birthday in style, cruising Kununurra’s Ord River on a luxury houseboat with our staff, plus some friends and family
It’s been 26 years since we opened the doors for our little family-run tour desk in Chinatown, Broome, and all these years later we’re excited to celebrate this milestone.
Last week, we took to Kununurra’s Ord River on a luxury houseboat to celebrate 26 years of running our family business.
The original Kimberley cruise booking agent
Terri and Bruce Connell are at the helm of the Kimberley Cruise Centre. Relocating the family to Broome in 1996, Terri had managed Travel Agencies on the East Coast and they had both travelled extensively on domestic and international trips before purchasing Broome Eco Adventures in 1998.
The Connell family business became the first in Australia to specialise in Kimberley Cruises, registering the domain name www.kimberleycruises.com and the business name Kimberley Cruise Centre. Bruce travelled on the original Kimberley Quest in 1999 and was awestruck by the unique grandeur of the Kimberley coastline. Melissa then joined the family company, developing the original Kimberley cruising website (learning to code websites from scratch – with many late nights spent in the office during her teenage years!)
Today, the Kimberley Cruise Centre is a leading name in Kimberley Cruise bookings. Joined by Terri’s sister, Louise (reservations manager), we remain family owned and operated, so you can be assured of excellent first-hand knowledge and personal service.
