Media Release September 2026: Coral Expeditions releases new solo traveller program
Travel independently with the confidence of knowing you are part of something considered, welcoming and well supported.
We have some great news for solo travellers – Coral Expeditions is expanding its options for solo explorers with the following three exciting programs.
- No single supplement within 75 days from departure: Expanded Solo Standby Opportunities now allow flexible travellers to secure a cabin for sole occupancy without a single supplement from up to 75 days before departure. If cabins remain available close to departure, eligible solo guests can book a twin-share cabin for the advertised per-person twin-share fare, without paying a traditional single supplement. Choose from available Explorer Deck, Promenade Deck or Coral Deck Staterooms. Bookings are available within 60 – 75 days of departure, subject to cabin availability.
- More “No-Solo-Supplement” Departures are also being added across selected longer-lead cruises, with destinations including the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania, Western Australia and Cape York.
- Hosted Solo Explorer Experiences are being developed to create greater connection and community, featuring dedicated hosts, social events, informal gatherings and opportunities to meet fellow solo travellers before and during the expedition.
Together, these initiatives make it easier and more affordable for solo travellers to experience Coral Expeditions with confidence.

As a new offering in 2026, Coral Expeditions have selected a small number of annual departures on which they will operate small groups of up to 12 solo travellers with an onboard host to facilitate this small group travel experience. As part of the experience, they will include a number of thoughtful inclusions to make the travel experience easy and comfortable:
- Pre-cruise accommodation and transfers
- Welcome function meet and greet
- Communal dining table onboard with hosts
- Included premium Wi-Fi and laundry onboard
- Activity and excursion buddy system
