Experience the incredible Kimberley coastline over 5 days, beginning right in the heart of this majestic wilderness. This is the most affordable luxury adventure charter on the Kimberley Coast and includes an onboard helicopter, talented chef, and a crew with 35 years of experience in the region.
DAY 1: DEPART BROOME FOR KIMBERLEY COAST
Your Quintessential Kimberley Coast Escape cruise will begin with an early morning pickup and transfer to Broome airport. From here it’s a short flight to Mount Hart, where you’ll then be transferred directly to your boat in the Doubtful Bay region. Your friendly crew will welcome you aboard before we spend the evening cruising over to Raft Point.
Day 2: RAFT POINT / RED CONE CREEK
We’ll start the day with a hike up Raft Point to an ancient Aboriginal rock art gallery that has breathtaking views over Doubtful Bay. On the high tide we’ll head off to Sapphire Creek where you can relax, cool off and have a swim. We’ll then gear up the tenders to go in search of the elusive Barramundi, which will also give us a good chance of spotting crocodiles. After that we’ll cruise for an hour to the Sale River.
Day 3: SALE RIVER
Encompassing both tidal estuaries and spectacular sandstone gorges, the Sale River is one of the most scenic waterways in this area. Here we’ll fish the morning tide before stopping for a barbeque beneath a rainforest canopy. After lunch you can enjoy a swim in a multitude of small crystal clear pools, fringed with tropical ferns and bushes. Back onboard MV Great Escape you can kick back and enjoy sunset drinks as our chef prepares a sumptuous dinner.
Day 4: MONTGOMERY REEF
Covering an area of approximately 400 square kilometres with a length of about 80 kilometres Montgomery Reef is subject to massive tidal movements 10-11 metres. When the tide is out going a series of cascading waterfalls is revealed attracting a plethora of migratory birds and marine life including turtles, manta rays, reef sharks, crocodiles and dugongs. After the tide has flowed back over the reef, we’ll cruise to Talbot Bay for the following day’s transfers.
Day 5: KIMBERLEY COAST TO BROOME
Departure for your chopper flight to Mount Hart will commence early in the morning, with all guests back in Broome by lunchtime. You will be greeted at the airport by our friendly office staff and transferred to your accommodation if required. If you’re departing Broome in the evening, you’re more than welcome to leave your luggage in our office until you’re ready to leave for the airport.
Please note that this is a typical itinerary and whilst your adventure will be quite similar to the above itinerary, tides will affect the itinerary. We plan to make the most of each day according to the tides and weather!
