day 1

Pearls, history and stunning Broome beaches are on offer before a warm welcome aboard Coral Princess and a late afternoon departure.

Day 2

Sparse and beautiful, the Dampier Peninsula passes by to Starboard in the morning, and if weather conditions permit, we hope for an afternoon cruise in the Lacepede Islands, home to vast numbers of frigates, brown boobies, green and flatback turtles.

Days 3-4

Like scattered puzzle pieces tossed across an azure sea, Buccaneer Archipelago’s 800 iron-rich islands are a photographer’s dream. despite its name, Crocodile Creek offers safe, cooling swims; Talbot Bay pearl farms and the Horizontal Waterfalls whitewater excitement. If tides allow, Montgomery Reef provides a delightful cruise amidst bubbling cascades in channels full of turtles, manta rays and sharks.

Days 5-6

Camden Sound Whale Sanctuary offers protected waters, where the world’s largest group of humpbacks arrives from Antarctica to give birth to their calves. Fit expeditioners may follow Mike Cusack on a trek to Kunmunya Mission ruins, where he spent a year with his wife as Australian Geographic’s “Wilderness Couple”. Our excursion craft takes us up Prince Regent River to magnificent King Cascade.

Day 7

Mighty Mount Trafalgar watches over the magnificent mangrove stands, soaring red cliffs and powerful tidal currents of Prince Regent nature Reserve. We may spotlight for saltwater crocodiles and visit Careening Bay, where in 1820, explorer Phillip Parker King sought haven and blazed “HMC Mermaid” into a massive boab tree that still stands.

Day 8

Nesting osprey and monjons (small rock wallabies), bring life to Bigge Island, one of the most important cultural sites on our voyage. Wandjina and Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) paintings and ceremonial stone rings embody the spirit of those who have gone before.

Day 9

Vanisttart Bay and Admiralty Gulf offer stunning bays and islands where we’ll search for delicate Bradshaw (Gwion Gwion) figures or perhaps relics from WWII.

Day 10

We cruise up King George River and deep into the red-rock gorge to be refreshed by the 80-metre, uninterrupted cascade of King George Falls, the tallest waterfall in Western Australia, before heading across Joseph Bonaparte Gulf.

Day 11

Our voyage ends in Darwin, where we say goodbye to new friends and arrange transfers to your hotel or airport before journeying home.
